Lost & Dispersed Dynastic Residences

The palace network of the Muhammad Ali family was much larger than the famous state palaces.

Ibrahim Pasha

Official Egyptian records confirm that Ibrahim Pasha built multiple Cairo palaces, including Al-Qasr Al-Aly and El-Maghara. Their existence is verified, but their precise architectural histories remain under reconstruction.

Prince Omar Toussoun

The audit has now promoted the Shubra palace into the permanent RPR. A second Cairo residence, Palais Toussoun in Zamalek, is classified as a later-acquired dynastic household residence. Alexandria contained an even larger Toussoun property network, but those buildings remain in the research queue until each can be identified independently.

Method

A palace enters the permanent registry only when a source supports the building itself. A family biography that merely says a prince “had several palaces” creates research leads, not automatic RPR records.
