Aisha Fahmy
Private palace owner / namesake of the Zamalek arts centre
Palace associated with her: early twentieth century
Who they were
Aisha Fahmy is the namesake of the Zamalek palace later adapted as an arts centre. The Egyptian State Information Service describes rooms associated with her, including a Japanese-themed room and personal dressing and bathing spaces. These interiors preserve traces of an elite private household. Its later cultural use is a separate phase: the official account records the arts centre’s reopening in May 2017, not a confirmation of today’s visiting schedule.
