Known Gaps
- Named Asuka palaces and excavated compounds require deeper archaeological cross-mapping before finer building-level IDs are created.
- Original Heian Palace remains represented at complex level; its Daigokuden, Burakuin, Dairi and other substructures need a later building-level RPI expansion.
- Kyoto sato-dairi temporary imperial palaces are only selectively represented; many aristocratic mansions served as temporary imperial residences after palace fires.
- Nyoin and imperial women's residences remain incomplete beyond the best-documented Tōfukumon-in case.
- Former imperial-princely branch residences remain incomplete beyond Asaka, Katsura-no-miya and selected living residences.
- Japan NRP — shogunal, daimyo and aristocratic palace/residence registry — remains intentionally separate and deferred.
- Hospitality history is complete at master-essay level, but individual historic hotels do not yet have a dedicated hospitality registry code series.
Registry Logic
RPR — imperial palaces, villas and residences. RPI — palace interiors/buildings. PCR — palace claims / Palace in Name. NRP — future dedicated layer for shogunal, daimyo and aristocratic residences.
