Appartement du Dauphin
Eighteenth-century arrangement; restoration begun 2020
Creative authors: Ange-Jacques Gabriel (1750 remodelling)
History & Conservation
The present arrangement recalls Louis XV’s son Louis-Ferdinand. The restoration begun in 2020 sought to approach the apartment’s appearance following Gabriel’s 1750 remodelling. [SRC-FRA-107]
The library served Louis XV’s son as a private study and was later used by the future Louis XVI. The suite preserves distinct decorative treatments, including white-and-gold rocaille and coloured varnished decoration. [SRC-FRA-107]
