Manoir Papineau
Canada → Quebec → Montebello
The manor was the home of Louis-Joseph Papineau, politician and seigneur of Petite-Nation. Its four-towered silhouette expresses the standing of a landholder whose public career and estate management intersected here. This is a seigneurial residence, not a royal palace, and seigneurial tenure alone should not be translated into a hereditary noble title. Parks Canada interprets the house and associated estate buildings. Interior access is through guided visits rather than free circulation.
