RPR-TUR-035 · IMPERIAL PRINCESS PALACE
Cemile Sultan Palace, Fındıklı
One half of the Fındıklı twin-palace ensemble built for daughters of Sultan Abdülmecid.
The Fındıklı Çifte Saraylar formed a paired dynastic waterfront complex associated with Cemile Sultan and Münire Sultan. After the end of dynastic use, Cemile Sultan's palace became central to the history of the Fine Arts Academy. A major fire in 1948 destroyed much of the historic structure; reconstruction in the 1950s combined surviving palace planning ideas with modern academic use.
Source note: academic publications use both 1856 and 1860 for the initial twin-palace construction phase, so the record preserves a date range.
