Government House, Winnipeg
Canada → Manitoba → Winnipeg
Built in 1883, the residence at 10 Kennedy Street was transferred from Canada to Manitoba in 1885 for one dollar, with its residential purpose specified. The mansard-roofed house developed through successive alterations. A ballroom added for the Duke and Duchess of York’s 1901 visit was replaced in 1960; the state dining room dates from 1908. The official account gives approximately 20,000 square feet including associated additions. These figures describe the property as documented, not its unchanged original footprint.

The official Levee on the Lawn invitation lists walk-through tours of Government House. This establishes occasional event access, not a regular tour programme or admission today. Check for a new dated invitation before travelling; Legislative Building tours do not include this house.
