Manoir de la Baronnie-de-Portneuf
Canada → Quebec → Portneuf → 100, 1re Avenue
This house was built for Jacques-Alexis Delisle between 1762 and 1788, long after Portneuf became a barony in 1681. Its later seigneurial role is the reason for inclusion: Mathew MacNider leased the barony from the Ursulines in 1801 and established an office here to manage business and receive tenants. The surviving house must not be presented as the first baron’s seventeenth-century home. Later known as Manoir Langlois, it was owned by Marie-Joséphine Sandfield Macdonald from 1897 until 1929. Subsequent inn use and subdivision into apartments were followed by restoration as a single-family residence.
Visiting
The heritage register describes residential use but supplies no current public visiting programme. Neither entry to the house nor access to its grounds has been confirmed. Historical use as an inn does not establish a current hotel, guesthouse or private-estate rental offer.
