Manoir de Tonnancour
Canada → Quebec → Trois-Rivières
René Godefroy de Tonnancour and Marguerite Ameau built a house here in 1723–1725, combining family accommodation with commercial storage. Their son Louis-Joseph inherited it. Fire damaged the upper floors in 1784; Pierre-Louis Deschenaux and Marie-Josephte Perreault acquired and rebuilt it from 1795. The present form thus includes surviving fabric and later reconstruction. Subsequent military and ecclesiastical uses changed its role, and the Galerie d’art du Parc moved here in 1981. Today the interior serves contemporary art rather than a complete period-room display.
Visiting
The gallery publishes free exhibition access Tuesday–Sunday, 12:00–17:00, closed Mondays and public holidays. This grants access to exhibition areas; it is not a promise of unrestricted access to the entire historic house.
