Manoir Sainte-Anne

Canada → Quebec → Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade

The provincial register dates construction from 1765 and identifies John Hale, Elizabeth Frances Amherst (Elizabeth Hale) and Honoré Mercier as occupants. This record concerns the historic manor and its surviving fabric, rather than the entire seigneurie founded in 1667. The operator documents a 1927 fire and a new pavilion built within the ruins in 2020: the events room is therefore a modern intervention, not an intact eighteenth-century interior. The municipal exhibition examines seigneurial power and the people whose lives shaped the estate. Madeleine de Verchères belongs to the wider estate history; her name alone does not establish occupancy of this later building.

Visiting

The operator published a 2026 season from 14 June to 7 September, daily 10:00–17:00, now ended. General admission was CAD 6; group bookings are offered. Check the next season before travelling. Venue rental does not establish overnight accommodation or exclusive rental of the whole estate.
